Seattle, WA -- Aug 22, 2019

This Saturday we are releasing FOUR BEERS from our sour program - including three brand new ones - at The Taproom.AEIR - our first spontaneously inoculated beer fermented entirely in oak. A delicate and complex beer, with a nose of lemon and hay. Bright and clean, with a soft body and dry finish. Notes of pear and grape come through mid palette, and only a slight tartness. Brewed in early 2018.FARM & OAK: MONTMORENCY CHERRY (2018) - the first in our series of beers featuring fresh fruit directly sourced from local farms and oak fermentation. Montmorency cherries from Rowley & Hawkins fruit farm were added to our red sour base beer, and aged with a blend of brett strains. A complex cherry character is featured with a lot of depth, including some notes of pie spice as well as a subtle nuttiness. Brewed with the 2018 cherry harvest.BRETTANIA - BLACKCURRANT - the latest in our award-winning Brettania series. Our oak foeder-aged rustic saison aged on a healthy dose of blackcurrants, giving a juicy, almost jammy character. The fruity blackcurrants and the base beer have a balance of tartness and acidity that cuts the jammy-ness and provides a balanced finish. This beer uses our house brett blend, which we've been brewing with for over two years.PILLARS OF GOLD - Big clean orange nose, with undertones of brett phenols, this beer has a juicy mid palette that gives way to a dry finish. We increased some of the malt intensity over prior batches to give a little more body. All of these beers have live cultures in the bottle and will continue to develop with age. This release features beers from very small batches, and limits are 2 bottles per person on Aeir, Farm & Oak: Montmorency Cherry, and Brettania - Blackcurrant. Pillars of Gold has a limit of 6 bottles per person.Bottles will be available when we open at 11am at The Taproom (5010 14th Ave NW) and will coincide with the release of Hop Idol 2019. #beerunbound ...
