Every year, the American Association of Zookeepers (AAZK) chooses one person to receive a national Excellence in Animal Care Award. Last night, that award was given to one of our own—Celine Pardo, an animal keeper at our award-winning Humboldt penguin exhibit. Celine, who has worked at Woodland Park Zoo for 13 years, was recognized at the National AAZK Conference in Indianapolis last night, for her outstanding efforts in animal care, her dedication to Humboldt penguin conservation and education, and her commitment to wild Humboldt penguin conservation research.
